Join us for this family-friendly, hands-on workshop for children 6 and up and their parents/adult caregivers. Workshop attendees will construct their very own chickadee nesting box to help support wild bird habitat in your own backyard. All materials (and safety equipment) are supplied.
The Vancouver Avian Research Centre will share about the amazing life of hummingbirds! Learn more about these high-energy little dynamos – their life in North America, how we can help them, where they go in winter and learn more about some of their almost 400 related species.
This is your chance for a meet and greet with some of nature's most beautiful birds, offered through the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (O.W.L). O.W.L specializes in the rescue and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned raptors from all over B.C. Learn about how the birds find their way to O.W.L., how they are cared for, and eventually released back into nature. Participants will also meet the teaching birds up close.
