Iona Island Bird Observatory Tour Experience
Join WildResearch for a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Iona Island Bird Observatory as part of the Vancouver Bird Celebration! These 30-minute guided tours offer a unique opportunity to experience spring migration up close in small groups of 10–15 participants. Guided by an experienced naturalist, visitors will learn about bird banding, see how staff and trained volunteers safely capture and band songbirds, and discover how community science contributes to conservation. Meet the team, explore the station, and gain a deeper appreciation for the birds moving through the Fraser River estuary. The tour also includes a short walk through this important migratory stopover and local birding hotspot. Tours run every 30 minutes starting at 8:00 AM—spots are limited, so be sure to reserve yours! (This is a family-friendly event)
