Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society & Birds Canada are co-hosting a special event with community participants (see list below) at Elgin Heritage Park, 13723 Crescent Road, Surrey on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, starting with an early morning bird walk at 7:30am and more walks can be scheduled for 11:00am and for 1:30pm. Speakers – VARC, Our hope the community will join us to celebrate and learn about how amazing birds are and about their long migrations north to breed then fly south to winter. The theme for this year is Shared Spaces: Bird -friendly Cities. So we can help by limiting our outside night lighting, keeping our pet cats safe and healthy inside and put decals on large windows to help the birds from hitting the windows.
Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with us! Enjoy birdwatching, bird-themed activities, meet a live owl, get to know some passionate organizations dedicated to protecting nature, and explore one of Canada’s top Key Biodiversity Areas. Drop-in. All ages are welcome.
